Record sa-2026 in our public holiday dataset. Every date below is read from that record at build time.

What we still need to confirm: Verified 19 Sep 2026 via Wayback Machine archive of the live safework.sa.gov.au page, because direct automated access returned HTTP 403/a bot challenge. CORRECTION: Adelaide Cup Day moved from the previously recorded 11 May 2026 (wrong — holiday-calendar.html error) to the correct 9 March 2026 (second Monday in March). Added Labour Day (5 October) and confirmed both part-day holidays: Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, 7pm to midnight, under the Public Holidays Act 2023. NAMING: SA's official name for 26 December is 'Proclamation Day holiday' (South Australia's actual Proclamation Day is 28 December, but the holiday is observed on 26 December); SA does not use the name 'Boxing Day' as a standalone holiday in 2026 — closes C-SA-04 and C-SA-05 in favour of australian-public-holidays-2026.html's naming, and confirms Easter Sunday is a public holiday in SA since 1 January 2024 (Public Holidays Act 2023).

Regional and part-day holidays

We hold no confirmed regional or locality-specific public holiday for South Australia. Regional show days and part-day holidays are real and they change the answer for the people they apply to, so we would rather say we do not have them than publish a guess.

Unconfirmed candidates, listed in the disputed section above: Christmas Eve (from 7pm) (Part-day); New Year's Eve (from 7pm) (Part-day)

Calculators that use this data

These tools read the same public holiday data. If a date on this page is wrong, their answers are wrong too — which is exactly why the verification note sits at the top of this page rather than the bottom.
